    Very good

Location was excellent, room was very nice although sun coming in the window made it very hot (shouldn't complain about sun in March). No comment on food as we did not eat in the hotel - felt the breakfast was overpriced and there were plenty of places to go in the area

Biggest issue was the lack of sockets in the room. There was only one that could be used for phone charger, hair straighteners etc but it was unusable because it was set so close to the join of the unit to the wall that a plug with a rigid bit when the flex joins (as most of them have) would not fit. This meant scrabbling about on hands and knees and having to unplug the fridge in order to plug in other items.

Beautiful riverside location, lovely views from the bedroom, comfortable and very accessible for the city

    Very good

Great service, wonderful views, good swimming pool and leisure facilities (though will soon need an upgrade), well sound-proofed.

Air conditioning non-existent. room became like a sauna. must be sorted out to attract us back.

    Fabulous

The location of our room facing the River Tyne and with views of several bridges was fantastic.

The hotel is "tired" and needs refurbishment. Some carpets are stained and the furniture etc is worn.

    Location

I thought the standard of the room was poor value for money. It was shabbier and tired looking though the bed linen and comfort was super

The pleasant reception staff and the room was v clean!!

The price of breakfast, would have been nice to have breakfast in the hotel but it's just too expensive.

    The location.

Room looked shabby and very dated with thread bear seats, an uncomfortable bed, grubby bathroom with a tap that leaked water all over the sink area.We were woken repeatedly through the night by people shouting and banging on doors. This is not what you expect from such an expensive hotel, extremely poor value for money!

    Good

The General Manager responded in a vety construcyive way to complaints.

Staff appeared to listen hard and express concern, but their follow up actions were ineffectual. Some 5th floor "connoisseur" rooms were disturbed by the noise of trains on the high level bridge nearby.

    Very good

was disappointed to discover (just 5 minutes before the conference was due to start) that the beneath the (very smart Copthorne logo'd cover) , there were only two sheet remaining in the flipchart pad. A replacement was brought quickly. However, staff should be routinely checking and attending to these basic details at the end of each day and the before the start of sessions the next day. When I informed the otherwise very courteous person at Reception of the oversight she responded "No problem". When will hotel management train their staff to never use this phrase unless they are about to do something quite extraordinairy and beyond what a customer should reasonably expect? Actually, It was a problem brought about by the hotel's failure carry out a simple check.

    Location

Room was basic and dated and had no mini bar and the tv did not work.this room had a small double bed which was not comfortable.air conditionion did not work and the noise from the metro trans woke us up

    Superb

The hotel is in a superb location on the Tyne. Our room was very clean and supplies of tea, coffee, etc, were regularly topped up. There was always a convivial atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Staff at breakfast were very attentive. Tv and general entertainment service were adequate to our needs.

Bathrooms and bedroom furniture a little tired, although everything was exceptionally comfortable. A promotion offering a meal and a drink for a tenner was misleading. We were refused this in the bar, although it appeared by the wording placed in the managers welcoming letter and in the lifts, that this offer was available throughout from 10am to 10 pm. Mini bar was empty

Well located and nice views of the river. Wetherspoons pub 2 minute walk away which is very handy for a cheap breakfast!

We booked 2 rooms and 1 room was better and bigger than the other one.
